Alexis Garrand’s 25-yard free kick into the top of the net in the 69th minute and Ashley Vevera’s stellar play in goal propelled Women’s Soccer to a thrilling 1-0 victory over host Olympia in the District Tournament quarterfinal. Garrand, who left the game early in the second half with a stomach illness, returned with just enough energy when it was needed. Rachel Stephen also had a tremendous game all-around as the Panthers have won six of their last seven matches to improve to 10-8-1 on the season. They will play Apopka tonight at 7:30 in the District Semifinals at Olympia.
