Sophomore Roderick Lawrence launches a three vs. Edgewater (2010)
Shane Larkin scored 19 points and dished out seven assists to lead Men’s Basketball to a resounding 79-35 victory over South Lake. Kerby Lubin added 12 points and pulled down four rebounds as the Panthers (17-4) clinched the top seed for the upcoming District Tournament. DP jumped out to a 22-9 first quarter lead but the second quarter was where the game got away from South Lake. Pat Ryan, Larkin and Lubin opened up with consecutive threes as the Panthers’ lead swelled t 31-11 and they never looked back as the running clock went into effect in the third quarter. All eyes will be on the team Friday night as two of the top powers in the state collide as DP travels to Winter Park. This is expected to be a large crowd so please plan on getting there early for a good seat. Varsity tip-off is set for 7:30.
