Shane Larkin scored 17 points and pulled down five rebounds as Men’s Basketball built as much as a 21-point lead before cruising to a 57-45 victory over Vero Beach in the Regional Semifinal.  DP (25-5) came out on fire in the first quarter as Patrick Ryan (ten points) buried consecutive threes to give the Panthers a 10-2 lead.  In the second quarter, Keenan Green opened the period with a turnaround bucket and Larkin followed with a three pointer and a layup to key an 8-0 run as DP built a 22-10 lead.  Chris Thomas drained back-to-back baskets just before the horn sounded as the Panthers took a 28-14 lead into the break.  In the third, Green triggered another burst with a layup a phenomenal play to save a loose ball.  His leaping overhand pass to Larkin for the layup and Damani Cade’s three pointer at 3:08 pushed the DP lead to 40-19 and that was the end of the night for Vero.  In the fourth, Kerby Lubin (eight points) drained a three and Larkin hit another as the barrage continued until 1:30 remaining when both benches were emptied.  Balanced scoring and tenacious defense were the storylines here for the Panthers as they advance to host to the Regional Championship Saturday vs. St. Petersburg at 4:00 PM.
